Functions and Responsibilities
The Marine Manager or Marine Superintendent is ALTERNATE DESIGNATED PERSON Ashore (A-DP A or A-DP)
Marine Manager and Marine Superintendent are responsible for:-
Marine Safety
Implementing the general and safety and environmental protection policy adopted by the Chief Executive. Liaise with General Manager for implementation of the same
Ensuring compliance of Safety & Quality Management System by both shore based and shipbo ard personnel;
Member of Internal Audit Team
Member of Emergency Response Team
Monitor and support all vessels on operational issues
Ensure vessel co mpliance on all international marine requirements
Responsible for and assist in maintaining nautical standards onboard vessels
Assist as required in advising Masters and Owners/Operators on all nautical matters
Give guidance to Masters/Navigational officers in nautical matters
Ensure that group provides Port, Passage and War information for all vessels sailing into probl ematical areas
Responsible for safety, near miss and inspection initiatives
Responsible for investigation all accidents and incidents.
Assist in docume ntation gathering for cargo claims
Liaise with Techn ical Manager with regards to outstanding claims directly associated to inci dents. Coordinating concerning H&M and PNI insurance matters;
Overview Emerg ency Response Activities and initiatives
Maintain a complete portfolio of operation experience on all vessel types
Attend industry a nd safety forums
